Location and directions
Sharpers House, postcode TQ7 2DA, is located in the picturesque village of East Prawle, which is about 8 miles from the historic market town of Kingsbridge, the capital of the South Hams.
For those travelling South
Take M5 southbound. At Exeter this turns into A38. Go down the
A38 following signs for Plymouth (make sure that you do not
end up going to Torquay and Newton-Abbot) and ignoring the signs
for Kingsbridge and Totnes, go past Buckfastleigh and in about
5 miles you will see a Garage on your right (in the northbound
lane). Shortly after this there is a turn off signposted “Ugborough”
and the British Rail park and ride for Plymouth. Take this turn
off and go Left at the T junction.
Follow the road (signposted Modbury), till you get to a cross
roads, go straight across (signposted Lodiswell) carry on till
you get to “California X” where there is a BP garage. 100yds
past this garage take the left turn for Loddiswell, carry on
through Loddiswell and follow the signs for Kingsbridge.
For those travelling from the West
From Plymouth take the A379 for Kingsbridge/Modbury, follow
the road through Modbury and continue following signs for Kingsbridge.
From Kingsbridge
When you get to Kingsbridge follow the signs for Dartmouth ,
past Morrisons, then left at the roundabout (A379), down to
next roundabout and take the Right turn again to Dartmouth A379.
Follow the road along the embankment and out of Kingsbridge,
pass over New Bridge and go through West Charleton, East Charleton
and then drive into the village of Frogmore.
At the bottom of the hill in Frogmore take the right turn signposted
East Prawle. Follow this up hill and then after about 1 mile
take a left again signed East Prawle. Go through Ford (v. sharp
bend to the right!) then up a steep hill to a junction where
you go directly ahead. Keep following the signs for East Prawle.
The road will take you into the village, and go past the duck
pond and on until you will find yourself at the village green.
Take a left hand turn, following the road that runs to the right
of the village shop and cafe (NOT the one that runs past the
pub, and not the one that goes past the bus shelter on the green).
This goes down a dip and up again, and then down a very steep
hill. At the bottom of the hill bear right, along a rough track.
There is a row of houses above you on the right, and at the
end of the row Sharpers is on your right, with two parking spaces
on your left. If you get as far as the pink house you have gone
too far.
